About the artist
I was born in North Shields, Tyne and Wear in 1961. My childhood was spent in a coastal village on the outskirts of Whitley Bay. I left school at 16 to start an apprenticeship in printing and stayed in that career for 30 years. During this period I taught myself to paint, mainly in watercolour and ink. For the past few years I have concentrated mainly on acrylics and oils and being now self-employed has allowed me the flexiblity to concentrate more of my time on my artwork. I live near Market Harborough in Leicestershire with my partner Jilan and our dogs, Jess and Dallas and cats, Max and Quantum.
